Anyone ever use gt40p heads on a 351w? Was there any power gains? compression gains? I have some gt40p heads that I was going to enlarge the head bolt holes so they would fit a 351w. My 351w is a 1974 with stock heads and pistons.

#2 · Sep 7, 2016 I doubt you will see 300 hp at the rear wheels through the aod or any transmission for that matter. That combo may make 300-350 hp at the flywheel. maybe. GT40 heads aren't a great head for the 351w. Heck none of the Ford offerings were a great head for that engine.

Piston noise when cold and at low idle. Small Block V8 (221, 260, 289, 5.0/302, 5.8/351W) - Gt40 heads on 351w - I have a 351w eith d80e heads. I'd like better flow, so I'm considering pulling some gt40s. I know that I have to drill the bolt holes, but is there anything else required? is it the pitch on the heads that makes a 351w different.
