The 5.3L Long block will weigh 450#'s. The L33 AL block 5.3L will weigh about the same as the LS1. Good weight thread!

Wow I didnt know they made 5.3 in aluminum I dont really know if it would cause more leaks unless u go with aftermarket heads or other iron components on the engine.aluminum heads on an iron block will often cause leaks since they dont' expand/contract at the same rate.but aluminum is actually less prone to heat damage becuase it doesn't retain.
