Round Mountain Hut walking track
The Round Mountain Fire Trail connects the car park with Derschkos Hut, which is nice and wide and easy to follow. Derschkos Hut is a good place to camp and then make the summit up Mount Jagungal the next day. There are lots of trails and options for camping in the area to plan a multi-day adventure.

Round Mountain Hut is a 7m x 4.2m hut made from corrugated iron. It was originally built in the early 1930s, then rebuilt after fire in the 1940s. There is a fireplace, a bench for food preparation, some rustic bunk beds, and a nearby toilet. There is space for camping around the hut and a reliable creek nearby (treat before drinking).

Great location, moderate to challenging hike. Day 1 headed to Dershkos Hut, stayed overnight - Day 2 through to Okeefes Hut, and return to Round Mountain Carpark. Few tips. Maybe go through to Okeefes Hut on first day as this will make day 2 easier and splits distance nicely for most (sub 20km days). Don't do in summer without lots of hydration.
