In the summer of 2001, a Tourer estate was added to the range and in 2002 the inefficient 2.0-litre V6 was replaced with a turbocharged variant of the 1.8 engine. 2004 saw the Rover 75 undergo a major facelift. Soon after, a V8 model was introduced which used a 4.6-litre 260bhp Mustang-sourced engine also used in the ZT 260.
