On the final drive the Mobil 1 75w-90 is about as good as it gets as long as you don't have seal leakage. A number of BMW 1100/1150 final drives have some seepage issues with uplevel synthetic gear oil (it isn't the synthetic gear oil itself but the lack of enough seal conditioner in the synthetic oil blend that usually causes the problems).

2 Joined Aug 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I have recently got a 2003 R1150RT from a very good friend of mine who has been a member since 2003 and speaks highly about this site. So could someone please advice me what is the most suitable transmission oil I should use for this bike keep in mind this bike very high mileage.

Thar she blows! Discard the old crush washer in a place where you won't accidentally reuse it. Clean plug and new crush washer. Next, grab your filter wrench and ratchet and remove the filter. It is in a recessed spot near the drain plug.
