#1 · Dec 22, 2017 So, I am debating on buying an EE20 engine (turbo diesel) for my XV. I have found places I can buy the engine and ECU harness but I am trying to see if the trans will need to be changed out or if they built the trans to be strong enough to handle the extra torque of a diesel.

From all the research I've done and from what I've read a Crosstrek platform is based off the same platform as the WRX Impreza hatchback/sedan. What years WRX 2.0/2.5L sedan or hatchback engine, drivetrain, suspension, ETC swap into a 2012-2017 Crosstrek.
