Sometimes when driving down the road say about 50 mph, the car goes into ECO mode, as it should, but when i go to accelerate, the cars transition from 4 to 8 cylinder is a little too obvious/ rough. The car sometimes downshifts then upshifts quickly. sometimes it lags a little before it takes off.

You can pull the codes with the predator, under "diagnostics" (until you clear them, which you did.) When the car throws a code, the ECO light becomes inactive, even though MDS may still be operable. I think it's a way for the engineers.

Normal commute is averaging about 17-19mpg. All this before getting the Tazer. With the Tazer I'm still averaging about the same in ECO mode, but the throttle response has changed, it's definitely not as jumpy from a stop. MDS is pretty sensitive on the car, at least mine. Any little incline it turns off.

Eco mode doesn't turn off 4 cylinders all the time. It makes the cylinder deactivation slightly more aggressive, trans shifts softer, trans always starts in 2nd gear, and throttle is less sensitive. Even in eco mode if you floor it you get all the power from all 8 cylinders, it just feels mushier because of the soft shifts and gooey throttle.
