The engines are very good. 500K wouldn't surprise me out of the engine itself. If you're keeping it for the long haul, you should change the transmission fluid every 50K-ish miles. Toyota's definition of lifetime transmission fluid means it'll last between 100-150K miles, but clearly the rest of the car is good for much longer than that.
