With the lightweight coachwork and eager little 1300 cc twin-cam engine the Junior Z was nimble lithe and an absolute joy to drive. Approximately 1100 were sold before the more powerful yet slightly heavier 1600 Jr. Zagato replaced it in 1972.This excellent 1300 Junior Z is one of only a handful in the USA. Unveiled at the 1969 Turin motor show, the Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato was a limited production version of the Alfa Romeo 105/115 series Coupés featuring aerodynamic bodywork designed by the Milanese coachbuilding company Zagato. In production until 1973, the car featured a 1300cc engine, and in 1972 a 1600cc engined longer body model was introduced.

In 1975, after less than two years, Alfa Romeo sadly decided to stop the production of the 1600 Junior Zagato, despite having more powerful engines available that would have made the small coupé even more interesting. The mechanics would not have been a problem either, considering that the Spider Duetto was built until the '90s.
